Dental implants are titanium screws inserted into the bone to replace missing teeth, restoring the function and aesthetics of your smile.

They offer numerous benefits: they are durable, they restore full chewing function, they improve aesthetics, they are comfortable and fixed, and they promote oral health without damaging adjacent teeth.

The procedure is painless thanks to local anesthesia, and any post-operative discomfort is manageable.

At this practice, Straumann® implants are used.

The titanium used is biocompatible, and a lack of integration is rare and can be resolved.

For their care, implants require the same hygiene as natural teeth: brushing, flossing, and regular dental check-ups.

The brushing technique with an electric toothbrush is similar to a manual one, but there are some important differences to consider. Here are the steps to follow:

Brushing Steps

  1. Choose the right toothbrush: Select an electric toothbrush with soft bristles and a design that suits your needs.

  2. Apply toothpaste: Apply a small amount of toothpaste to the toothbrush.

  3. Position the toothbrush: Position the toothbrush against your teeth, with the bristles pointed toward the gum line.

  4. Brush your teeth: Brush your teeth with gentle, slow movements, covering all tooth surfaces.

  5. Brush your tongue and palate: Also brush your tongue and palate to remove bacteria and food debris.

Specific Technique for Electric Toothbrushes

  • Don't press too hard: There's no need to press the toothbrush too hard against your teeth, as the bristles will still move effectively.

  • Follow the rhythm: Let the electric toothbrush do the work for you by following its rhythm.

  • Change direction: Change the toothbrush's direction every 2-3 teeth to cover all surfaces.

Additional Tips

  • Brush for at least 2 minutes: Brush your teeth for at least 2 minutes, twice a day.

  • Replace the brush heads: Replace the heads of your electric toothbrush every 3-6 months or according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  • Keep the toothbrush clean: Keep your toothbrush clean and dry to prevent the growth of bacteria.
